01 / Sustainability / Dissertation

Sustainable B2B packaging

I am currently working on a dissertation in collaboration with Spirax Sarco to design packaging for B2B transportation between their sister companies in the EU that comply with the recent Packing and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR) that have been put in place. I aim to design a short, medium, and long-term plan to implement packaging solutions that align with the PPWR timeline as well as create a prototype to demonstrate the performance of the packaging.

II / Behind the work

A little background.

I am a 4th year Masters of Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Birmingham. I have worked on many personal and group engineering projects to develop design skills from conception to validation. I have experience with multiple forms of transportation including automotive, trains, and planes. Through my work I have adhered to current legal regulations to engineer designs ready for the real world. I have a large interest in sustainable design.
